How it Works

First, we create a Website for you using the latest version of WordPress as a CMS, and host it ourselves. Your sites’s address will look like this: http://yoursite.plumbsocial.com. You can choose from many different themes, and have custom colors and a custom header. The purpose of this site is to help you maintain a dynamic blogging presence with minimal effort - all you will need to do is provide entries, preferably several times a week. We will worry about the maintenance of the site by keeping WordPress current and error free, updating necessary plugins, and keeping an eye on spam and security issues. If you already have a blog you maintain, that is not a problem; we can feed your entries into your new site from your other blog if necessary. You can even use this site as your main Website if you wanted, since you can add additional pages and many other features and functionality.

Next, if you don’t have them already, we will create accounts and/or profiles and pages for you in Feedburner, Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, Squidoo or MySpace, Upcoming, Twitter, FriendFeed, and two additional social networking or micro-blogging sites like LinkedIn or Shelfari - depending on your needs. If you already have these or other accounts in the Social Web, we can integrate them as well.

The next phase is the real beauty of the service. Each time you post a blog entry, the post will be fed to all of your social networking sites. In addition, all you need to do is upload images to Flickr, videos to YouTube, and events to Upcoming, then each of the relevant social networking sites, as well as your blog site’s image and/or video galleries, will be updated simultaneously. We accomplish this using well-tested applications and/or plugins within each individual service. In addition, through your Ping.fm account, you can enter shorter entries that will update your micro-blogging accounts like Twitter, as well as your Facebook status, LinkedIn status, or MySpace profile.

The accounts we set up are YOUR accounts. Each of the accounts we set up for you are yours to keep, even if you decide not to maintain a Website with Plumb Social. Once all of your accounts are in place, we will send you all of your account information, as well as instructions for maintaining them.
